Is it legal to record class?
It depends on where you are and on your school. Many schools allow recording for personal study, some need the teacher’s permission, and some places require everyone’s consent. Check your school’s policy and ask your teacher when in doubt. Milra only records when you press Start Note, and reminds you to record only where you have permission.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Recording always works offline and your audio is saved on your Mac. The live transcript and summary catch up as soon as you’re back online.
Which languages?
English first. More languages will follow, and you can choose a language in Settings when they arrive.
Where are recordings stored?
On your Mac. If you turn on sync, your notes are stored in your Milra account so they appear on your other devices. You can delete audio or everything at any time.
Does it work with Zoom?
Yes. Turn on system audio in Settings and Milra hears the class through your Mac, along with your microphone.
Is there a Windows version?
Windows is part of the same beta as the Mac app. Join the waitlist and we’ll email you when it’s ready.
Is there a phone app?
The iPhone app comes after the Mac and Windows beta. It will let your phone record from the front of the room and join the same note as your Mac.
Can I get a refund?
Email us anytime to cancel Student Pro, and you’ll keep it until the end of the period you already paid for. Self-serve cancellation from Settings is coming soon. If a charge looks wrong, email us and we’ll look at it with you.
